Digging Ancient Mining Civilization---Huangshi National Park Laying a Foundation

Huangshi Mine Park laying a foundation and it is Daye Mining Museum opening in 22th. Earlier, Province Committee deputy secretary, nomarch Luo Qingquan made a suggestion for Huangshi National Park: 'planning and construction of high-level, and achieve the desired objectives.' Daye Mining has undergoes five stages, they are ancient mining, modern mining, Japan plunder, reconstruction and exploration, deeper exploration in turn. It is the one of the ten largest Iron ore production bases in China that have produced 116 million tons of ore and 73.21 million tons of iron concentrate ore since 1958 to 2005. However, over the past 100 years of large-scale mechanized exploration, the mining resources reduced day after day. Face the reality, Daye searching for iron ore both in internal and external, at the same time, it digging ancient mining civilization to turn the exhausted resources into exploration of cultural resources and industrial tourism resources. This brings a widespread concern of the community.

In September last year, Huangshi Mine Park that intended to integrate Daye iron ore and copper ancient site through the authorization of experts committee and became the first Mine Park in national level. The park including 10 core tourist areas such as Mining Dynamic Geological Research Area, Explore Ancient Site Tourism Area, and Mining Ancient Sightseeing Area. It#8217;s planning area is 30 square kilometers, and will be completed in May, 2007.
