Siming Mountain Geology Exploration

In October this year, the news of Siming Mountain founded large area 'Yi Plane' and it wanted to declare National Geological Park has aroused extensive concern. Dec. 18^th-19^th, famous Chinese geologist, the CAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics Zhao Xitao, Consultant of UNESCO and former president of the Chinese Geology Academy Zhaoxun re-investigate geology near Luocheng Mountain by the invitation of the government. Through the tow days meticulous investigation and repeated appraisals, and two experts to a explicit conclusion that Siming Mountain have the basic conditions to declare National Geological Pack.

The tow experts said that the found of the large areas Yi Plane which in altitude 600-800 meters has a great scientific and practical significance for discussion of lithosphere movement in the region and China, uplift of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the formation of China three ladder. However, Luocheng Mountain is the epitome of Geological physiognomy of whole Siming mountain area. It has a high value in geology for obvious level of granite, lava and basalt and good reflection the geological evolution process. From the view of landscape, Luocheng Mountain is over 800 meters and have a very high ornamental value that have lava with columnar jointed and granite with various shape such as eagle, elephant and so on.

Geological experts gave a lot support in science for Siming Mountain declare Geological Park. Feng Changming said that Siming Mountain has many characteristics geological relic resources and conditions to declare in province level.

Experts suggested that the local government should be gradually to put the plan of declaring on the agenda for making a good foundation for geological park. They said that they will provide the most powerful support for building of Siming Mountain Geological Mountain.
